1998 Ford Explorer V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 87000 miles

Are the dash lights controlled by a fuse? Mine have been slowly getting dimmer and are almost gone, making it impossible to tell my speed at night. My car is used & I don't have the diagram to show which fuse controls anything.
