Heater problem
1997 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have no heat and I know why but I dont want to run around tracing it. Theres no suction in the vacuum line that goes on the heater valve. Does anyone know where that line leads to and what needs to be replaced in order for it to work again?

thanks for the reply. Yes both the hoses that go into the heater core are hot. One is hot and the other is warm. I traced the vacuum line into the car under the passenger glove box and the heater valve there has no suction in the vacuum line as well.

THat is the problem. You need to follow that vacuum hose to see where it is bad or run a new one.

Let me know if you have other questions or what you find.

Ya I just took another look under the glove box and found the line leads inside the car to the control switch. Cant really figure why theres no suction...Do you know where the main vacuum tank is located on a 4.0L OHV engine?

The vacuum line should run through the firewall and to the intake.

Let me know if you have other questions.
