I have a 1996 Ford explorer that is making what sounds like a whirriling or howling noise coming from the front when the engine is put under load with the transmission. When I put the vechile in neutral and rev the engine I don't hear it, but when it is in gear and moving at about 25 MPH I hear this noise. There is no clicking heard on turning. Can it be my wheel bearings or something worst? Thanks

IT sounds like a wheel bearing. Does the sound change when turning?
