1996 Ford Explorer squeals on startup

Without seeing the metal pieces, it is difficult to say if that is a source of noise, but a failing bearing in the clutch assembly can cause noise. Also, a weak tensioner or worn belt can cause noise.

Its your tensioner...i had the same problem and just replaced the tensioner.
