On my explorer when I put it into drive it dies. We've had the idle sensor replaced and it still does this. Any other suggestions as to what it might be? This is my son's car and he states when he gives it too much brake it vibrates and then dies. Once the car is warm it runs fine.

If the engine vibrates and dies when he hits the brakes and dies when you put it in gear, it sounds like a transmission problem. Just for the heck of it, take it to a trans mechanic. Something tells me there is a problem with the torque converter not releasing. It is almost like stopping a car with a standard transmission without pushing in the clutch.

BEFORE TAKING IT, let me know if the check engine light is on.
