Electrical problem
1994 Ford Explorer Four Wheel Drive Automatic

The gas hand won't move at all. What would be an estimate on getting it fixed?

Chances are the float gauge is the problem. It is attached to a rheostat that is nothing more than a resister. Often times they go bad. The bad part is it is part of the fuel pump and the tank needs removed.

I realize you would like an estimate. For the pump and labor, I would estimate around 400.00. However, before the pump would actually be replaced, I would recommend the mechanic check the rheostat to make sure that is the problem and not a broken or corroded wire somewhere in the vehicle.

Let me know if you have other questions.
