If it fogged on the inside u need the heater core
no valve inside the dash (HVAC BOX)
truck will run hot and will over heat if low on coolant
keep radiator full with coolant
if you do not need the heat
u can bypass the heater core
by disconnecting the heater hoses on the out side and loop them together
good luck
heater core is located inside the HVAC box

Heater core replacement in 1 hour? I would be afraid of what that might look like....

To replace the heater core you have to disassemble your dashboard, which that alone takes quiet a while to do even for the experienced mechanic, seeing as how it has so many electrical components and other components attached to it..

You better recheck that replacement work, it sounds like one of the hoses was not hooked up correctly or the hose is faulty/loose.

No offense to anyone but I am just not seeing a heater core replacement in one hour. It's just not possible. I really suggest you having the replacement job rechecked..
