I'm about to install new heads on this '91 explorer. I've been here before and noticed a disproportionate number of coolant holes in the gasget (more holes arond the back clylinders than front) I've also noticed different dia. holes in different head gasgets made for the same engine. I am tempted to add more holes in the gasget at the corresponding casting locations. Is this a workable idea? Note: I live in the Arizona desert.

Not a good idea to mangle a head gasket before you install it, get a good brand like Fel-Pro and get er done!
