I own a 05 expedition eddie bauer coming home from a somewhat long trip the suv started running rough smoke came out of the exhaust and it had a strong smell of fuel coming from the exhaust also the check engine light came on took it to read the codes and it came back that it had two misfires on cylinder 3 and 4 went ahead and replaced spark plugs but couldn't replace the coils i test drove it now there seems to be fuel coming out of the exhaust i have read that it could be a fuel pressure sensor or a bad injector cant find the regulator on the expedition could you tell me where it is or if this is really bad news for my truck?

Hello,

The fuel pressure sensor is located on the fuel rail. Here is a diagram below but I don't think that is your problem with the fuel coming out of the exhaust. It sounds more like you have a shorted injector or bad PCM. Here is a guide to help you see about the injectors.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers

They told me it was the PCM that shorted out because of water damage, I gave up and took it in, cost me $750.00 to get it fixed.
