You need to know the formula for selecting the correct tire size. You have to maintain the same overall height to prevent other problems. Obviously, you also need to check clearance.

The formula for that is......

for every rim size you move up you increase the section width by 20mm and reduce the aspect ratio by 10

Example.

a plus 1 application for a 225/70/15 would be 245/60/16
A plus 2 application would be 265/50/17
