I think you are looking for a vacuum leak. The vent doors are actuated by engine vacuum. When there is a leak, that is what happens. Check under the dash and the hood. If you are lucky, with the engine rinning, you may hear a hissing sound.

Let me know what you find.

Thanks for the reply, I went under the hood and checked all the lines this weekend I head no hissing sound. However this weekend my buddy and I are going to remove the dash board and check all the lines. Since the ac isnt bowing cold in the front just cool I figure we might as well. I have ordered a blend door just in case. Anyway it will be a good experience for the both of us since he also has an expedition. I will let you know what we find if we find anything. Your input is also welcomed

Thanks

Let me know. It is a big job, so pay attention to how it comes apart.

Ok we took the dash board out this weekend and changed the blend door. However we still have the same porblem. AC still blowing in the defroster vent. I am thinking at this point it could be a eletronic switch or the vacumn. Any suggestions?

Is still say you have a vacuum leak. Did you check all the vacuum hoses?

After thought, did you check all the vacuum lines under the dash? If so, have you checked the actuator itself?

I changed the actuator, it's brand new one from the dealer. I checked the lines under the hood. I didnt check those under the dash. I guess I will have to do that this weekend. I was told that there is a vacuuum under hood close to the battery that may cause that I checked but it seemed fine. Is there a simple way to check the vacuum lines for leaks? So far I have been doing physical checks it may be that I missed something.

thanks again

My guess is the problem is under the dash. As far as checking for vacuum, the switch that runs everything has a supply line from the engine. It should have vacuum when the engine is running.

Let me know what you find. I really believe that is the problem.
