Why does my interior lighting and running boards lights stay on while I'm driving and after the vehicle is shut off?

check and make sure all doors locks and switches are fully engaged when you close the doors. they stick sometimes and the car thinks that there is an open door even if all the doors are fully closed.
try spraying the locks on the doors with wd-40 or some other lubricant to release the sticking parts.
