radiator replacement What type of coolant do I add. Can I just use water?

Hi,

When replacing engine coolant, the strongest solution you can get is when you mix 50% coolant and 50% water. You don't want to use only water or all coolant. Coolant prevents freezing and on the opposite end of the spectrum, it increases the boiling point of water to help prevent boil overs.

As far as the coolant, I always like to recommend a universal GL5 coolant. That way, in the event coolant needs added, you can use the universal again or the traditional green coolant.
