1998 Ford Expedition code p0353 new coil new plugs still ge

I just bought a 1998 expedition because it was running terribly, pulled the codes and got p0357, p0353, and p0352. I have replaced all the spark plugs except for number 6 (havn't had a chance to pick up a 7mm flex socket yet) and replaced coils on cylinders 7, 3, and 2. Codes p0357 and p0352 went away, but p0353 keeps coming back and there is a definite miss, sometimes a little better sometimes a little worse. I swapped out coil #3 again just to make sure that I hadn't gotten a bad coil somehow and still get the same code. I'm stumped as to where to go from here. New ECM?

Check engine compression on that cylender and make sure you are getting power to the coil and the injector.

Sorry, I also want to know if you replaced the rubber boot to the plug. I have seen them go bad an acr in the head causing a misfire.

So I realized that I was counting the cylinders like a chevrolet and not like a ford. Replaced the right coil this time cleared the codes and everything is good on #3, but now I'm getting a p0302, I had an extra coil so I replaced it, but now that code won't go away. Tomorrow sometime I'll pull the plug and coil and investigate further, I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks for your help.

Check the plug. It may be fouled. Can you feel the miss?

I finally got around to pulling the plug this evening, and the tip was bent completely down to the electrode. I'm not really sure how that happened, I don't remember dropping any of the plugs and I checked the gap on all of them before I installed them. Anyway, I regapped the plug, and reinstalled it with the original coil, code seems to be gone for good now, and I don't feel the miss anymore. Thanks for your help. The one thing that I can't figure out is why the p0302 code never showed up until I got the p0353 to clear for good. Oh well, I guess that goes into the mysteries of modern electronic ignition systems. Thanks again for the suggestions, and help.

I'm glad you found it. At least it was an easy fix. Things like that happen sometimes when you put the plug in. If you bump them the wrong way, it can happen.
