What type of transmission fluid does a 2001 Ford Escort with 92,000 miles, 4 cylinder 2.0L engine, automatic transmission require?

I bought the car in 2002 when it was at 32,000 miles from a car rental company (Hertz) and since then i have never had the transmission serviced.
It is doing fine that i can tell but in my maintenance manual it has this service checked for the 90,000 mile mark.
This is my first time and i am going to do it myself because the prices that i was quoted are ridiculous especially since it only needs the pan, filter, and fluid change.
I already have the tools.
I also know a drop off site for recycling my fluid.
