how to reset 1995 ford escort computer

I'm having problems with my car first of all how do you reset your computer I have a 1995 ford escort 1.9L and do you need to restart after you put a new throttle position sensor in and also I installed the new one it worked but shortly after it died and wont even start is this because I didn't reset my computer...please help......main question how do you reset them
