Hood Problems

I have a 2002 Ford Escort ZX2, 76,000 miles, 4 cylinder engine. The hood will start to bounce up and down once I get to about 55 miles per hour. I think the latch is loose or something. Any ideas?

Chances are, it is simply a loose latch. If that's not the case, then you might be looking at a small problem, such as a dent, on the tip of the hood. This could cause a build up of air on the nose of the car, which would cause the hood to lift. But, even then, there would have to be a problem with the latch, in order for it to move. It should be a simple fix! Let me know if it turns out to be something else.
