Check Engine Light stays on. When in for service some time ago the tech cleaned the throttle body and it stayed off for a while. Just had it back in the shop and the service invoice reads, "DTC found. Possible causes are: Fuel pressure, air intake system, leaking fuel injection, vacuum leak, 02 sensor, MAF sensor, and engine combustion leak." Their answer was to clear the code from the computer, drive the car around the block, and charge me $95. Needless to say, the light was back on that same day.
Is this a common problem for this year Escort? What might the real problem be?
I'm upset that the tech didn't feel the need to follow a diagnostic tree to find the problem. I can't get the emission inspection done on this vehicle if the check engine light is on.
