2000 Ford Escort no fire from coil

Today, my car died. would start back up but will not run all on all cylinders. Plugs ok, wires new, have fire to 2 plugs but dead on other 2 plugs. Bought new coil, still have same problem.

Before problem started, had rough idle. Engine light came on, code suggested oxygen sensors. Bought new sensors. Light came back on after resetting memory, suggested same thing.

Prior to this, a/c clutch stopped working, system good and fully charged. Hot wire hooked to clutch air goes ice cold.

I am mainly questioning ignition coil problems, but tossed extra info in to help if there may be a connection to all. Good luck

Are the two dead cylinders on the same coil? One coil fires two plugs.

The ignition terminal goes hot when you turn on the key, the other two are grounds, one for each coil. The computer controls the ground circuits. Do an ohms test on the coil primary terminals, smaller wires, between ign terminal and one of the ground terminals, less than 5 ohms. Then between the ign terminal and other ground, same reading or about. Do that test with everything turned off, at the coil terminals not the wiring connector. Do another ohms test on the coil secondary towers, two towers on one coil, 12--14 thousand ohms. Also,Might be a problem on the ground circuit to the computer?

Both bad on same coil. One coil good other has no fire. Does the coil plug in go directly to the computer? (ECM/EEC/ECC)

AND ARE THE OTHER TWO PROBLEMS RELATED?

Coil drivers 1 and 2 are grounds, the circuits go to the computer. I don't think your other problems are related.

Just my opinion, I don't think it is a good idea to hot wire the ac compressor.

Ok, While I was waiting on your reply, I started checking wires. I started the car, 2 cylinders out. While tracing wires, the car started to run great. Upon further inspection. the green wire, to the bad coil, has a break in the line. Wiggling back and forth, you can close or open the circuit. How can i pull the bad wire from the clip? I removed backing on outside, and plastic packing on inside. Are there any internal spring stops to keep wiring in place? Thanks for your help.

Usually there is a release. You might be able to use a small pick to work the release. I don't know if the autostore can order a new connector?
