i purchased my 1999 ford escort ZX2 in october of 2002 car has ran fine until recently when it ticks... I thought it was the timing but I am not so sure it ticks after you start it up and when its idle or when you try to pick up speed it ticks also like 2nd to 3rd gear and at high Revolutions per minute(RPM) I am not so sure what to look for im pretty sure i could probably fix it I am mechanically inclined with taking transmissions apart but if I dont know what the problem is I cant fix it... What should i do Next?
