My 1999 Ford Escort with over 200,000 miles has a head gasket blown on it. The shop is telling me it will cost a total of about $1200-$1400 to repair. This seems a bit expensive to me. I am in the Tampa, FL area is this cost comparable? Someone in the St Pete area stated their cost was estimated about $250. That is a big difference.
