So I had a brake fluid leak a while back and the mechanic told me it was my clutch master, so I had it fixed for $400, and it doesn't leak anymore, but now there is this weird "rattling" noise when I press the clutch in, my girlfriend says from the outside it sounds like popcorn popping, and it's ONLY when I hold the clutch down, my mechanic is still on vacation so I haven't gotten to take it back yet. Could it have something to do with the work done on the clutch master cylinder thing? I have a good rapport with my mechanic but I always appreciate a good outside opinion. (when car is in neutral and clutch is not applied theres no noise, once again, ONLY clutch)

Hello .. thanks for the donation .. much appreciated Sounds like you have a worn pilot bearing or release bearing on the clutch assembly .. this will have no relation to the master cylinder repair .. but the damage could have been caused by the pressure loss while the cylinder was leaking, there is no way of telling if this was the case !!
