Hi,

This started sometime ago (about 8 years ago) with just a little twinge of a squeal escaping from the engine from time to time. It's gotten to a point where once the car warms up, it squeals almost non stop. I can sometimes quiet it down when I'm driving by letting off the accelerator lightly. Other times while I'm stopped but idling, if I shut off the heat, it quiets down. It seems to be more prevalent during the winter months. The worst however is when I shut the car of for the engine stops but the squealing lives on for a few seconds.

Any ideas??

thanks!!

Hi there, you may have a small vacuum leak or a faulty VCV (vacuum controlled valve) i would get a mechanic to check theses out first.
