when i turn of my engine the fuel gauge does not go back to zero so i can not tell how much fuel i have in my tank can you tell me what is wrong

disconnect the fuel pump harness and turn key on, does guage move? how about with the signal wire on teh harness grounded out key on, does that change anythign? if not the guage is more then likely fualty, if disconnecting the harness changes it then you have a issue with the sending unit in the tank
