1998 Ford Escort Break lights stay on

1998 Ford Escort 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive

The break lights seem to stay on, I believe its a part that goes under the break mechanism under the steering column, its a small part, can you help, please?

exactly, I believe that is your problem also, this piece unplugs when replacing it, try to jiggle it to see if it was a loose connection, if not you will need to replace it.
