1997 Ford Escort transmission fluid leak

I have had no problems or slips with my transmission, and suddenly all of the fluid came gushing out of my car. It still shifts, but i dont want to drive it. my question is, is it a fluid line? or something more drastic. when i put more fluid in it comes right out and makes a squish noise. I cant figure out where its coming from.

hi could be the line seals or a front seal.but i would suspect the line if not these then a internal seal

Hi. My '97 ford escort just did the exact same thing today on my way to work. It's sitting in a walmart parking lot, and I'm dreading going back to it after work. Did you find out what the problem was? I'd really love to hear how you made out, it could save me a ton of time and headaches.
