1997 Ford Escort
I tried to remove the cover so I could reach the rear turn signal bulbs. The book said to hit the cover with my hand toward the car to release the hidden latches. I have hit it as hard as I can and can't get the cover to come loose. I have taken out the two screws holding it on. The cover comes off partway, and I'm afraid to force it any further. Any help much appreciated!
