1997 Ford Escort Power Steering and AC at once?

Just a little while ago I was driving on the highway. It sounded like I ran over some gravel - though looking in the rearview mirror, I didn't see anything. I noticed that my power steering and AC went out. No odd sounds or smells.

Any ideas?

Maybe your serpentine belt broke and you are running without it. Check if you still have the belt in front of the engine. If not, you better install one immediately because you are running the engine with your battery which is only good for 30 minutes to an hour . Then your car will stall and won't start anymore.

Your dashboard battery light should be ON too if you don't have the serpentine belt.
