1997 Ford Escort Lock up solenoid

I have a 97 Escort automatic. I believe the lock up solenoid is bad. It will engage, but is very sensitive and disengages when I let up on the gas and takes longer than it should to engage. I have the new solenoid but could not locate it with the pan off. There were two other solenoids easily accessable, but did not macth the one I purchased. Do I have the wrong part or is it deeper in the transmission. How do I locate and replace the lock up solenoid?

On the 1997 models 4 solenoid valve are located on the valve body .
solenoid valve actuate shifting and torque converter lock up by switching oil flow through passages in the valve body

thanks for the info, but is the valve body accesable just by dropping the pan or is it deeper in the transmission. as I said I have a new solenoid, but it did not match the two I could see by removing the pan.

on 97 the TCC in the valve body
you need to remove the oil pan
one of two you may have
it may be on the side of the valve body or at the bottom of valve body
