I have an escort 1997 1.4 LX petrol. i got it full serviced last month. i have a problem with high idle. when i cold start the engine would run at 1400 rpm and remains the same for some time. once it has warmed up it drops down to 1200 and remains there all the time. i tried chaging the air fliter and the new spark plugs but made no difference. it is consuming lot of fuel too. it gives aboyt 6miles/liter =>27 miles/gallon.
