Engine Performance problem

Sometimes when starting car, it shutters and acts as if it might cut off (once or twice it did cut off). We had the spark plugs, oil and oil filter changed. Also, check the vacuum hose and carburetor for possible problems and found none. Is it possible the gas being used?
