Engine Cooling problem
1993 Ford Escort 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Why wont the fan on my Ford Esscort LX 1993 turn on without the A/C being on. The fan does turn on when the A/C is turned on. I have tried replacing my thermostat, and the temp. sensor that tells the fan when to kick on. I looked around for faulty and/or detached wires, and for wiring problems. my car continues to overheat because the fan will not kick on. Please help me figure this out, i am extremely confused by this. Thanks.

should have 2 of them, a high speed and a low speed. both are on the left front inner fender panel, left of the air cleaner assembly. to learn how to test a relay check out the link below..

never said to replace fuse but OK. if relays fuses and wiring is good and ECT sensor has been replaced than the PCM (powertrain control module) is at fault.
