1990 Ford Escort will not shift into second gear

car shifted fine sunday, and monday morning it would not shift gears. i dropped the pan replaced the filter and tranny fluid still no change. the oil was clear of particles an debris. what didnt i do. please help

Hi there,

you have done all that you can, this may be a fault in the valve body, maybe a stuck shift valve, this will have to be tested by a transmission specialist, as there will be a few on board tests that they can do to get a better diagnoses of your problem.
