Ford has a recall on the Escape accelerator cable. I guess there have been some cases where the vehicle will keep accelerating even when no pressure is placed on the gas. The cable on our Escape was replace last year even though we didn't have any problems with it, which is fine I know only a handfull of Escapes had a problem with this. But now, sometimes when our Escape is placed in park it will keep accelerating(rpm's go up, engine races) and it won't go back down after you tap the gas. I called our local Ford dealer and they said that since they replaced the recalled part already Ford has washed their hands of the problem. This doesn't make sence to me since what it seems like is that they replaced a perfectly good accelorator cable with a possible faulty one. I realize it could also be the IAC valve, but since the symptoms are like a faulty accelorator cable and it is a recalled part I thought they should replace it to see if it fixes the problem or am I wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
