Stuck in nuetral

6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 90200 miles

pulled into driveway and went to put into park. shifter got stuck in neutral and now will not move. car still starts but when press on brakes shifter is stuck and will not move up or down. never had this issue before an no warning signs. any ideas

It sounds like you have a transmission shift cable that has let go here are diagrams to help you see what you are in for when replacing the cable.
