what do I need to look for in a repair? Engine is sluggiish, missing and has loss of power. Could DPFE valve and hoses help this problem?

its really a sensor not a valve.
but first of all you say you have a check engine light?
well that tells you the computer has detected something wrong with the vehicle and it will tell you what it detected this guide will help us get he code.
scan for codes and post them back here and we should have no problem finding out whats wrong.

first thing, have the van scanned for codes, find out which o2 sensor is bad.... have it replaced.... normally that will set a check engine light, so verify that someone did not unplug your bulb that shows your check engine light in the dash... alot of shady used car dealerships do that.... but the OBD 2 diagnostic port never lies.... like i said, have it scanned, replace whatever o2 its stating, clear the codes, go from there.

I just bought the vehicle listed above e350 Econoline van and I have a check engine light. I used a scanner and code p151 ,p131,p141 came up all of them are my O2 sensors. I replaced all of them with Bosh O2 sensors and cleared the codes then I drove 36 miles the check engine light didn't come on, but when I parked in my driveway and turn the van off then on again the check engine light came on again.

Did the light stay on with the engine running? Also, have you checked for trouble codes again?
Let me know.

No, the light was off all the 36 miles I drove. I turned the van off then when I turned it back on again just to make sure the check engine light wouldn't come on again. it came on.

Okay, I asked because it should come on until the engine is running. Have you had the chance to check for codes? Is this a natural gas vehicle because the 141 indicates that it is The codes you indicated seem to be related to a short.
Let me know if the same ones come back. Also, check connectors, damaged wiring, or corrosion in the plugs.

You are very welcome. Let me know what you find and what the codes are. One more thing. If your scanner can provide live data, let me know what the short term fuel trims are.
Take care,
Joe

Check for vacuum leaks and check the idle air control valve. IT is on the throttle body. When removed, there is a pintil that moves. Turn the key off and on to make sure it is working.

First eliminate all vacuum or air leaks in the system as suggested. You may have a bad IAC ( idle air control) but try cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC.
