Cuts off?

I have a problem with my vehicle staying on. Whenever I am in park or neutral my cars stays on and idles just fine. But whenever I place my car in drive or reverse it will shutter and turn off? What could my problem be? Thank you

try to keep your right leg on the accelerator while the left will be on brakes, try to shift. if it doesnt stall, your idle is too low.check the acelerator cable might be off the hooks underthe hood or your idle control valve is mulfanctioning.when did you do tune up last?
