My headlights shut off intermitantly. I have been told this is due to an idle air control valve that causes the engine computer to reset. i have noticed my milage is poor, around 13 in town, 22 highway, but the car seems to be running fine. No hesitation or such. If iI stop and restart the vehicle after a few seconds it seems to solve the problem. Running and dash lights remain on. This happens while the auto headlight function is on and is not solved by turning the switch to manual. Does not happen every day or even every other day.

It has nothing to do with the IAC. Chances are the problem lies in the switch itself or the multi function switch. Start with simple things. Check to make sure the wiring is tight at the switch.

Let me know what you find.
