Car has been sitting for a while. The battery was low so I charged it and the engine radiator fan started running even without a key in the ignition, When I turned the ignition on, all the lights on the dash started blinking but car still will not start. Just clicks. What can I do.?

It sounds like you have a starter that is not working but to be sure lets run down this guide to confirm the failure.

Please run down this guide and report back.

Cranks but no start condition:

Fuel and Spark:
Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coils resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it.

No it will not start when I jump it from another car. I disconnected the fuel line from the fuel tank an it seem there is a clog in the line or fuel pump

Can you hjear the fuel pump running when the key is turned to the on position? There is also an inertia switch in the trunk. Make sure the red button is locked in the down position. The fuel pump relay is also a known failure on these cars.

Where is the inertia switch located in the trunk?

Left side close to where the trunk hunge is. It is a little square box that has a button on the top. If fuel is good, check for spark. No spark, look at the crank sensor. Also check the wiring under the right front bumper area under the battery, There is a loop in the wiring where water collects and will corrode wires.

Engine Performance problem
2000 Ford Crown Victoria V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Recently i parked on a moderate slope, leaning toward the drivers side. The low fuel light had been on for 10 miles, i can go about 40 miles before i'm in trouble of running out of gas. I live in Lexington, SC and the low is 50 and the high is 70. Fuel filter was replaced 15,000 miles ago. It will crank fine when i go to work @ 9am. But when i go home @ 5pm. it takes 30 seconds to 1 minute of steady holding the key for it to crank. I do not want to ruin a starter, battery or etc. because of this recent problem. This is the 4th day of this occurrence.

First, don't crank the engine for more than 10 seconds at a time. It will burn up the starter. Second, does this problem happen when there is a lot of gas in the car too? Finally, has the check engine light come on?

Let me know.

The low fuel light was on when it was parked leaning toward drivers side when it first started doing this. I thought that it being low on gas, it was not getting fuel to the pump, so i filled it up. I checked my records and the fuel filter was replaced 30,000 miles ago not the 15,000 i previously stated. I aked my local mechanic to use his Snap-on diagnostic machine to see if he could find out anything, and he said unless there is a light on like the check engine it would not do any good. I can replace the fuel filter, but how do you tell if the fuel pump has been clogged with trash. I would hate to replace a fuel pump and not solve the problem. Thanks for your time and consideration.

It could have damaged the fuel pump. Here is a how to video and instructions for checking fuel pump pressure. Let me know what you find.

https://www.2carpros.com/how_to/how_to_check_fuel_pressure.htm

You will need a gauge to check it. Most parts stores will lend or rent one to you.

I just replaced my battery because it wouldn't hold a charge, an I replaced the fuel filter too. My car still wont turn over. I checked the fuel filter an its not getting any gas now an theres no gas runing threw the lines into it? Does this mean its the fuel pump. The inertia swith is fine.

If you have fuel in the tank, chances are the fuel pump is bad. You will need to check and make sure it is getting power. Let me know what you find.

Electrical problem
2004 Ford Crown Victoria V8 Automatic 98000 miles

Starter Ok. This is a ford crown vic interceptor. Can start car by crossing the terminals on starter motor. I've replaced ignition switch. Are there any fuses I missed checking? Checked main fuse box. There are black fuses that you can't read. Could this be the problem or is it something else?
