I have a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria with 81,000. I had a misfire code for cylinder 3 the other week. I replaced the Coil over the plug with a spare, cleared the code and the car ran great for about 50 miles and 3 days. Next time I drove the car I received another misfire code for cylinder 4. I checked the coil/plug and everything is good. The only time the car runs rough is if I'm sitting in drive for about 2 minutes, then it starts to run rough and after about a block, it runs great. I currently show misfire codes on cylinders 4, 5, and 8. I checked for a crack in the plastic manifold cross over and everything is good, no leaks. All coil boots/plugs/plug wells do not have any moisture or signs of arched current. I'm baffled, please help.

Thank you for your help.

Check the rest below

Engine Misfiring can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.

Thanks for responding. I listed everything about the coils/plugs/manifold condition to help with the diagnosis. Would you suggest the EGR valve as the next suggestion? The car had the injectors cleaned about 10k ago.

Thanks.
