Engine Performance problem
1997 Ford Crown Victoria V8 Automatic 70,000 miles
Hello guys,
I just got a new mechanic who ran the diagnositc test on my 97 crown vic and indeed I needed a new fuel tank.
A friend helped me pay for it since I am on the poor side these days.
He had to drop the tank to replace it so I had it towed to his house and it is finished now.
What I would like to know is HOW much is this service? A friend who turned me on to this nice guy paid him $200 that I have to pay back.. but he also made a comment that that was a cheap price.. I guess there was water in the tank and it was a two day job... This guy freelances at his home and has plenty of work and people rave about him... MY problem is this? I don't like to cheat or underestimate paying for what is owed and time put in but this friend said, pay him whatever.. NOw that is a stupid answer and it could be an insulting experience should I not give him any more money.. Can you please tell me approx. what the going price from a low ball to a high ball on what I should pay him..?
