1997 Ford Crown Victoria fuel relay has no power to pump

i have a 1997 crown victoria police interceptor and i have no power to the fuel pump. i have jumped a hot over the inertia switch and runs fine. i checked the relay... replaced it... and checked the wires. i have power coming into the relax distribution box but no power coming back out to the pump. when i jumped over the inertia switch i rechecked the wires on the back side of the block and had 3 or 4 wires hot...(keep in mind i jumped power from the trunk light) however when i took the power jumper wire off and checked again i only had 1 of the 4 wires running hot.... the one powering the relay. no idea where to go from here some help would be awesome ... thanks in advance. after thinking about it im thinking the relay should have a constant hot a ignition hot a ground and the fuel pump wire. which i only have a constant... so if i power the 3rd wire that was hot when i jumped it it should trip the relay on...please if anyone knows either confirm of repute this statement.

If you by-pass the inertia switch and it runs, the inertia switch is probably bad. Also, what relay is in the trunk to feed the fuel pump? If there is a relay there, someone has done some "creative" wiring.

inertia switch is good already checked it ... and i jumped power from the trunk light thru the inertia switch plug. im pretty sure the ignition hot from the pcm either has a break in the wire or pcm went bad. and if pcm went bad im just gonna jump an ignition hot from the fuse box to the ignition wire of the relay.

Look under the front bumper below the battery where the wires go across the front of the radiator. The wires are bad about corroding in that area and breaking apart. We have a fleet of about 800 Crown Vics and have run into this many times. It is either a brown wire or a green/red wire.

its actually both... it was hit on the front pass corner... not bad but enough to pinch wires that corroded over time... or where you were talking about. i jumped the constant to the pcm wire and it didnt work at first but after jumping the brown wire (ground ) to the ground wire right next to it on the inner fender well/frame rail it tripped the relax on... with out the shut off feature when max pressure i reached. i was planning on stripping the front end off to repair the body damage anyways so ill check the entire area for bad wires and get a few radiator hoses to wrap the wires in and electrical tape it closed to keep moisture out and provide a cushion against rubbing bare again. thanks for the help ill post the final outcome when i get time to repair it all.

p.s. i dont think u need help from younger minds... you did just fine on all my answers by your self... haha

do you have any push bars sitting around that i could buy? i was looking for a full front end guard but they discontinued them, but any would work.

We do not run push bars on our vehicles. You would have to go to a much larger city. Thanks for thye vote of confidence. Been doing Fords since 1984. Would like to have a dime for every repair I have done on them over the years. have a beverage of your choice on me. Here is the mug. (_)3

one more question. does that harness run by the intake? cause i had a bad intake that blew steam on the harness that runs through that area, on the opposite side of the heater core hose by the firewall, for i have no idea how long cause i got it that way. but anyways if its not that i would love to know whats probably next to go.

No it doesn't. It starts at the power distribution box and run across front of car and back down the drivers side. It splits off at the firewall and goes to a lot of sensors. Tyhere is no way to determine if anything is going to fail. Hopefully it will serve you well for a long time. Good luck.
