pls help my 1985 ford crown vic idles high when ever I come to a stop. When I first start it it runs fine.

Check and test the idle air control valve/motor and the throttle position sensor, also check the throttle plate if its binding and not fully closing/seated and also the cable not binding in the sleeve

There's other causes that can affect your idle than the ones I've mentioned. I choose them as prime targets before I get into the nightmare ones.
