When I shift into gear it slips back into neutral.

I have a 1995 Ford Contour sport edition, with about 90,000 and a v-6.

When I shift the gear into any gear it will slip back into neutral. I can hold the shifter into which gear I want and drive in that gear but if I let go of it it pops back into neutral. Help please

its one of these tranaxle loose on clutch housing
2. shift rods interfering with the engine mounts or clutch lever.
3 dirt between the tranaxle case and engine or misalignment of the transaxle
4. worn or improperly adjusted linkage
so have fun buddy
