what others will fit

ok i have a brolen 97 ford contour it has the standard 121cubic inch 2.0l/v-4 engine, now i was wondering what other type of engine will fit under the hood. ok well everything is gone on the car the electronics everything transmission anything else about what can fit inside this car would be a great help

What happened to that engine?? You just can't bolt in something that'll fit and drive off into the sunset.. at least without probably having some help from a tow truck.. these are no longer the good old days where we bolted 302 v8's into Pinto's and 350's into Vega's and proceeded to melt the rear tires to the rims... your pcm is calibrated specifically to run that set of controls with that engine currently in your car, yeah you could probably find something to fit, I don't know, chances are it'll run half-assed and be more headaches then it's worth,, if the engine is trashed, I'd search for a reasonably priced identical one, may take work on your part to transfer items, but at least you're minimizing the problems...
