temp controller to hot

my 1996 FORD CONTOUR GL w a 2.0l engine and 182k mileage. it runs real hot on guage. also has new thermostat and fluid.WHATS THE REASO0N MAYBE?

the contours always read hot my car does it to it looks like it shouldnt be that hot, i know its like almost at the L of N O R M A L yeah i know it should be fine
