Unlike my Chevy & Dodge the hub & bearing assembly appears to be pressed on vs bollted on. Will it be necessary to unbolt the tie rod, swing arm and shock & spring assembly in order to remove the short shaft with the suspected bad cv joints?

FYI: This is a Contour SVT which may have a different suspension other than stock. I know the shock is custom because of the 'SVT' sticker on it

Hi Mike6324, Thank you for the donation. Here are the removal procedures. Removal (Right Axle Shaft) NOTE: Use an Allen wrench to stop the piston rod from turning. 1. Loosen top strut nut 5 turns. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel assembly. Remove wheel hub nut and washer. Remove splash shields. Disconnect stabilizer link rod from strut housing. Remove ball joint nut and pinch bolt at lower control arm. Separate ball joint from steering knuckle. Disconnect ABS wiring harness bracket from suspension strut. 2. Using Puller (T86P-3514-A), Extension (T86P-3514-A2) and Slide Hammer (T50T-100-A) to remove inner CV joint from intermediate shaft. Position puller between inner CV joint housing and intermediate shaft. See Fig. 2 . Separate axle shaft from wheel hub. If wheel hub binds on axle shaft, separate them using Front Hub Remover/Installer (T81P-1104-C) and Adapters (T83P-1104-BH). Remove axle shaft from vehicle. On vehicles equipped with A/T, drain transaxle fluid.
