2000 Ford Contour

The filter is a lifetime filter and is only serviced when the transmission is rebuilt. If you drain the fluid, you will only get a small amount of fluid out. Therefore, I recommend having the system powerflushed. That is when a machine is hooked to the trans cooling lines on the radiator. The old fluid is pumped out by the trans while fresh fluid is replaced in the other line. By doing it this way, you will get 99% of the old fluid out.
