Hello I have a 99 ford contour and I have put a lot of front and rear end work in to it. I replaced both front outer tie rods both front wheel bearings control arm bushings (both front). Last week I just had one of the front tie rods replaced because it was going bad and the car was making a vibrating and sort of like a grinding noise. I got that replaced and got an alignment because it was way off but now my car is still making the same noise. Any idea what that might be?

Thank you, Jeffrey Evans

Jeffrey:
The most common cause of a vibration is tire balance or a bent rim. However, that wouldn cause the noise you hear. Does the grinding sound happen at all speeds? Have you checked brakes? Does the sound change under different conditions such as braking, turning...? Since you had the tie rod replaced and the alignment, has the vibration gone away?

Let me know.

Within the 6 months I have had the front and rear brakes replaced and the vibrating noise is still there even after the alignment and tie rod replacement. I was thinking maybe I need my tires rotated but its sort of making the same noise it was making when the front whhel bearing went bad but that was just replaced in august.

It sounds like another wheel bearing or the one that was replaced went bad.
