1999 Ford Contour 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i recently fail a smog test due to egr. i replaced the egr valve the egr exaust gas pressure differential sensor. how do i clean out the whole exaust system?

What was the code ?
most I ve seen DPFE sensor no good
also check for clogged intake manifold side of the egr
check for an leaks also
